Project Overview

We were tasked with executing a complex window and facade cleaning project on the iconic 300 Bath Street property, which towers over the M8 motorway in Glasgow. This project presented unique challenges due to its location and the requirement to minimise disruptions to the busy arterial route below.

Key Highlights

1

High-level access equipment: We utilised state-of-the-art high-level access equipment, to include a vehicle mounted 56m boom and platform along with rope access techniques. This equipment enabled us to safely reach and clean even the most challenging areas of 300 Bath Street.

2

Innovative reach and wash system: In line with our commitment to sustainability, we introduced an innovative reach and wash system that utilised purified water. This not only ensured a pristine, streak-free finish but also minimised the environmental impact of the cleaning process.

3

Collaboration with stakeholders: Effective collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including local authorities, traffic management teams, and the building’s owners, was crucial to the success of this project. We maintained constant communication to ensure the seamless closure of the M8 on separate evenings, minimising traffic disruption and enhancing safety.

Challenges

The most significant challenges we faced was the need to close both the East and Westbound sides of the M8 motorway overnight to ensure safety. This required meticulous planning, including obtaining the necessary permits, and maintaining consistent communication with all parties involved. Additionally, we navigated the intricacies of temporarily shutting down Glasgow’s Low Emission Zone (LEZ) cameras in the project vicinity to facilitate the safe and uninterrupted execution of our high-level cleaning operation.
